My List

The 2KMovies app for Android, iPhone, iPad and TV

The 2KMovies app installs from the site in two taps, on Android, iPhone and iPad, and runs full-screen with its own icon, your list, your country and your episode marks. On a television it works in the browser and casts from your phone.

Install on Android

Open 2KMovies in Chrome, tap the menu and choose Add to Home screen, or accept the install banner when Chrome offers it. The app installs with the 2K icon and opens full-screen without the browser bar, with your list, your country and your episode marks inside it. Updates arrive on their own each time you open it. There is no APK to hunt for and nothing to sideload: the app is the site, packaged for the phone, and it works the same in India, Pakistan, the Philippines and the United States.

Install on iPhone and iPad

Open 2KMovies in Safari, tap the share button and choose Add to Home Screen. Safari is the browser Apple allows to install web apps, so use it for this step even if you browse in something else. The icon appears on the home screen, the app opens full-screen, and everything you saved in Safari carries over, because the app and the site share the same storage.

What the app does

Everything the site does, built for a phone first: search with original titles and shorthand, the Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, Pinoy and Korean shelves, every series with seasons and episode dates, Reached this episode, My List with export and import, a country selector on every title page, and Watch now, which opens the service's own app when it is installed on the phone. Two posters across, the menu behind the ≡ button, and the search field one tap away on every page.

On a television

Any television with a browser opens the site: Android TV, Google TV, Fire TV's Silk browser and most smart TVs. Bookmark the address, search with the remote or the voice button, choose the country once, and press Watch now: the title opens in the service's TV app when that app is installed, which is where it plays in 2K or 4K. The quicker route is casting: open the title on your phone, press Watch now, pick the service, and cast from the service's app; the phone becomes the remote and My List stays open in your hand. The television guide walks through each device.

Downloads

Downloads live inside the service you open with Watch now. Most services download films and whole seasons to a phone or tablet in HD, with the subtitle and audio tracks you chose, and keep them for weeks. Press Watch now, open the service, and use its download button before the flight. The downloads page covers the details.

Keeping devices in step

Each device keeps its own copy of My List. Moving it from the phone to the tablet is an Export on one and an Import on the other: the file is a few kilobytes, carries your titles and your episode marks, and merges with whatever the second device already has rather than replacing it.
